For tennis fans, Paula Badosa and Ons Jabeur are true friendship goals! From their hilarious banter over best friend tags to encouraging each other to perform well, Badosa and Jabeur showed that real intentions can bring two people closer despite their professional rivalry. After Badosa’s awkward Madrid Open 2024 exit, this Tunisian WTA star went a bit further to comfort her pal Paula Badosa. Little did they know, the friendly banter between the two helped the Spanish tennis star return to her old form in Rome.
The official X (formerly Twitter) platform of Tennis Channel shared a clip, where fans spotted Paula Badosa having a conversation with the host, Prakash Amritraj. When the host asked her about a sp**king that she received from the 29-year-old, Badosa laughed. Amritraj also added whether this friendly gesture from Badosa’s Tunisian friend helped her bag her debut victory in Rome.
“I just saw her team because I know she was here and I was like thank god your practicing yesterday made me play amazing today. I was so aware of everything. Aware of the dropshots she was playing. She did like 25. So I had to do a good recovery after. But yeah, it’s always nice to be next to her. She, she helps me so much even mentally. She’s always so positive sometimes. Maybe I’m struggling a bit and playing against her. Also, I learn a lot from her. She’s so talented, so it’s nice to share moments with her,” this Spanish WTA star said.
