Arguably the greatest tennis player ever, Serena Williams has often shown her graceful tennis on the tennis court. Apart from her brilliant tennis, she also has a signature celebration and people call it ‘the Serena Twirl’. Win or lose, she often does the twirl for her fans.
Interestingly, she did a different kind of celebration during the London Olympics in 2012; she did a crip walk. After seeing Serena’s dance moves, infamous British journalist Piers Morgan made a sarcastic comment about it. However, the fans mocked the journalist mercilessly for making a comment about Serena’s dance moves.

Fans mocked Piers Morgan for trying to troll Serena Williams
Notably, Serena won a gold medal in the London Olympics after beating Maria Sharapova in the final. After the match, she did the Crip Walk, which grabbed plenty of headlines at that time. Even Piers Morgan could not hold himself from tweeting about it, as he wrote on Twitter, “The Serena Shuffle – fabulous!“

Although Morgan showed love and respect for Serena in the past, he also sometimes criticized her. In 2019 French Open, Morgan criticized Serena’s outfit. But in 2017, he praised Serena for winning the Australian Open while being pregnant.

In the 2012 London Olympics, Serena faced her arch-rival Maria Sharapova in the gold medal match. Fans were expecting a high-level match. However, Serena absolutely decimated the Russian player to win her first singles gold medal at the Olympics; the result of the match was 6-0 6-1 in favor of the American player.

Moreover, she won the doubles gold medal as well in the 2012 Olympics, partnering with her sister Venus. She was also there in the stand during Serena’s singles match against Sharapova. As Serena was doing the crip walk, Venus was laughing from the stands showing support for her sister.

Notably, Serena won 4 four gold medals in the Olympics; three in doubles and one in singles. Her first doubles gold medal came in the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Then, she won the doubles at the Beijing Olympics as well. Recently, the American tennis player retired from tennis after winning 23 Grand Slam titles, the second most in the history of tennis.
