Australian tennis star Ashleigh Barty  started her season dominantly. She won 11 out of 11 singles matches and dropped just 1 set in the process. After her Australian Open Triumph, she is servicing her duties as Tennis Ambassador of Australia.

As a part of her duties, she visited the northern part of Australia, where it all started for her as an Ambassador.

While talking about the trip she was excited and feeling special at the same time

Ashleigh Barty as Indigenous Tennis Ambassador

Barty has been the National Indigenous Tennis Ambassador for Australia since 2018. She was ranked 18th in the world but the top Australian WTA player at that time. Her major role is to encourage youth to take their sports love and passion to the next level. Barty has been a very influential Tennis personality within Australia and around the world.

The Current world no. 1 would be traveling to various Tennis Academies and facilities in the country to grow the popularity of the sport, covering various schools and communities.

In her recent visit to the north side of the country, Ash took the opportunity to visit Uluru – a sacred place to the Anangu. Barty, who also has an indigenous background, found the place very spiritual and said“It’s really hard to put into words, just because it’s a feeling,”

She further added“When you actually go to Uluru for the first time like I did, it was just an incredible experience for me to understand how much of a spiritual connection Uluru has for so many communities.”

She said that she always wanted to visit the place as a child. Also, she was proud that her career and profession allowed her to get to her dreams.

She went through various academies over there and was pleased with the kind of athletes coming up in the future.

Barty’s upcoming schedule

After her groundbreaking Australian Open title, Ashleigh Barty took a month-long break and now will play in the Indiana Wells tournament. She kept all her tours on hold, including Oct Indiana Wells, after her 3rd round exit from the 2021 US Open.

She made a strong comeback with 15-0 in 2022, including doubles matches with fellow Australian Storm Sanders.

This will be her 3rd participation in the tournament. She lost to Elina Svitolina in 2019 and Maria Sakkari in 2018. But with her current form, Ashleigh is a top contender for her 1st ever Indiana Wells trophy.
