However, some within the family want to live a quiet life, away from the prying eyes of the paparazzi. In the British Royal Family, it was Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle. After constant pressure and scrutiny from the media, Harry and Meghan, decided to leave the family and move to the US. However, the criticism did not end there either. Even in the US, the Sussexes weren’t free of extreme scrutiny. But many supported the two throughout their journey, like the legendary American tennis star Chris Evert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been a topic of conversation since they married. The media have been relentless in focusing on any move the two make.

Chris Evert sympathizes with the Duke of Sussex

As they left the UK for the US, the two thought they would find some relief from the vicious coverage of their lives. However, criticism followed the two even over the vast swathes of the Atlantic. Their popularity dwindled after Prince Harry confessed to drug use in the past. Some conservative organizations even made the request to make Harry’s immigration file public to know whether he received special treatment. 

The world seemed to provide no relief for the two former members of the Royal Family. But several people have spoken out in support of the couple. One post on Twitter by journalist Brian Krassenstein talked about the unfairness of the hate received by Harry. None other than Chris Evert quoted the tweet in support of Harry.

She asked people to be empathetic of the situation before they judge him. She wrote, “Walk in his shoes…. Judgement is toxic. I’ve always felt for him, and rooted for him. I still do…🙏❤️“.

Evert tries to relieve tension

The news about Prince Harry had taken center stage even before Prince Charles was coronated as King. While tensions were high between the two, Evert was at the forefront as she tried to make everyone understand their situation. She tweeted that she felt for the father and son. Additionally, she also asked people to walk in their shoes to understand the situation.
