Alex de Minaur and fiancée Katie Boulter have mastered the art of keeping things light, even in the most intense moments on tour. Reflecting on their 1st spark, Boulter once recalled, “We bumped into each other at six in the morning and ended up getting a coffee. From that moment, I knew I was in it for the long haul.” Since then, their bond has only grown stronger, fueled by love, laughter, and playful jabs. And even after her recent clay-court triumph, Boulter had fans in stitches as she cheekily blamed the Aussie for why she couldn’t kiss her bulky trophy. But wait! What did he do this time?

Katie Boulter captured a major career milestone recently by securing her first-ever WTA 125 title at the Trophée Clarins, held at the prestigious Lagardère Paris Racing Club. The British top seed edged past French favorite Chloé Paquet in a hard-fought 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 final, showcasing her grit and determination. It marked her 3rd career title on the Hologic WTA Tour and her highest-level win on clay. With this triumph, the Brit jumped two spots in the PIF WTA Rankings, climbing from 40th to No. 38 and maintaining her lead over fellow Brit Emma Raducanu, who currently sits at 43rd.

Boulter’s path to the trophy was anything but smooth, though. Unlike her fellow finalist, Mayar Sherif, the Brit had to dig deep through 3 consecutive three-set matches in the closing rounds. But the Brit showed resilience on a surface often considered her weakest. No wonder she couldn’t resist celebrating in style, and with a little humor aimed at her fiancé, Aussie ace Alex de Minaur.

During the trophy presentation and photoshoot, Boulter held the custom-designed piece by famed French sculptor Richard Orlinski, known for his massive IG following. When a cameraman asked her to kiss the trophy, she added, “My fiancé might get jealous, though.” That tongue-in-cheek remark perfectly captured the playful chemistry the couple shares and had fans smiling ear to ear.

Soon after the win, she commemorated the moment on IG, sharing a carousel of joyful photos with the caption, “CLAAAYYYTIEEE. Title on every surface say whaaat 🧱🤝.” The first image showed her triumphantly holding the trophy, followed by pictures with her support team and a warm wave to the crowd. But the fan-favorite moment? A sweet FaceTime call with his Aussielove, who beamed with pride.

True to form, Alex de Minaur didn’t hold back his excitement too. He took to IG Stories to celebrate Boulter’s latest feat, re-sharing a post from ITA that read, “Champion in Paris!!! 🤩🏆, Katie beats Chloe Paquet 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 to claim her first clay court title at the WTA 125 Trophée Clarins.” He added his signature flair with a pumped-up, “LFG!!!!!” and joked, “Did someone say clay court specialist??!! 😱👀😂”

Katie Boulter playfully labels Alex de Minaur as a walking red flag In Madrid

During the recently concluded Mutua Madrid Open, an unexpected power outage plunged Spain, Portugal, and parts of Europe into darkness, halting transport, crashing communication services, and cutting off internet access. Alex de Minaur saw his match postponed because of the chaos. He was left off the grid, until later that day, when his phone finally picked up a signal. The Aussie updated fans with a lighthearted post on his X: “Don’t mind this off-the-grid thing. On the 3rd walk of the day and finally got some service to check on the rest of the world.”

Of course, Katie Boulter couldn’t let that slide without a jab. She cheekily replied, “Imagine blaming a country blackout for not texting me back all day. Elite (red flag) behaviour.”

Even before Madrid, De Minaur had already been making headlines at the Monte Carlo Masters. He put on an impressive run, reaching the QF after a stunning upset over 4th seed Daniil Medvedev, dominating the Russian 6-2, 6-2 in the R16. The performance showed just how dangerous he can be on clay when in form.
