‘Keep Holding Like a Samurai Sword’ – Renowned British Singer Dua Lipa Joins Forces With Emma Raducanu for a Hilarious Campaign

Emma Raducanu, the British tennis professional, is one of the most prominent young players. As Raducanu turned pro in the year 2018 and in just four years, she claimed a position in the WTA top 20. Further, the 19-year-old also became the first British woman to win a Grand Slam since 1977. She clinched the 2021 US Open title but defeated the Canadian tennis ace Leylah Fernandez in straight sets.
Further, the current British No.1 since her victory in the US Open has found a grip on the public. Therefore, several companies approach her to represent them. However, only the companies who are the best in their fields get a collaboration from her. One such brand is Evian. Evian signed a deal with Emma Raducanu in 2021 for the position of brand ambassador. Recently Evian released one of the most interesting advertisements starring Raducanu.

The World No. 11 and Dua Lipa have teamed up for a new Evian campaign clip named Evian drink true. In the video, both of them seemed to enjoy each other’s company as wells as profession. While Dua Lipa tried tested her hands on tennis, Raducanu learned how to execute some flawless moves from the singer. Here’s what their conversation went like.
Emma Raducanu introduced both of them and said, “I am gonna teach you how to perfect you forehand with Dua Lipa.” To which the singer replied, “perfect is quite ambitious.” Thereafter, she jokingly analyzed, “I keep holding like a samurai sword.”

Further, speaking of Raducanu‘s game, she hasn’t been able to give her best because of some pestering injuries. Raducanu suffered from a wrist injury at the very start of this year. Thereafter, she had to retire from the Guadalajara Open due to a hip injury.

Following that, the Brit made a comeback in the Indian Wells. There, besides her second round defeat, she incurred a back injury. Even so, she took part in the Miami Open and her injury ridden body brought yet another early exit.

Emma riding high on expectations made her clay court debut this year. Though several unhealed injuries blocked her from making any noteworthy records.

The 19-year-old, after playing for Great Britain in the Billie Jean cup stepped on the clay courts of Stuttgart Open. Where she made a decent run till the quarterfinals and lost to the eventual titlist, Iga Swiatek. However, after giving a fourth round appearance in Madrid, she again fell into the embrace of an injury.
Raducanu walked out of the Italian open due to an injury to her back and a fortnight later, she tested her skills on the red dirt of France. Though she failed to secure a seat even in the last 32 of the tournament.

Currently, she is taking part in a WTA 250 event based in her homeland. She will be facing former World No.35 Viktorija Golubic in the first round on Tuesday.
