Maria Sharapova has been retired for more than a year now, and she’s developed major interests to keep herself busy. The Russian has evolved into a successful entrepreneur post her tennis career, and there’s a lot that goes into making a business successful. Here’s how Sharapova does it.

Sharapova founded a premium candy company in 2012 and named it ‘Sugarpova,’ which she’s managing with maximum effort. But the two-time French Open champion did not limit her interests with the candy business alone and began making more investments.

Maria Sharapova reveals the drive behind her business interests 

Sharapova has massively expanded her business interests ever since retiring from tennis. The Russian’s built a business empire in which she’s the queen in commnand. However, managing a hectic work life along with personal priorities is no easy task. 

But Sharapova is just hungry to take up more opportunities as they come by. “I have always been a curious person, and I think this natural desire to learn and interest in trying new things is what really pushes me to take on new challenges,” Sharapova told Create & Cultivate recently.

While a tennis career kept Sharapova restricted from venturing into different areas of interest, she found the time for all of it after stepping away from the game.

 “I’m a big believer in balance, and while sport often took up quite a bit of my time, I always made sure to balance practice with other passions that inspired me such as travel, design, and food,” Sharapova added.

“My interest in these fields has pushed me to grow in a variety of areas; it keeps me motivated to try new things in order to better understand myself and the subjects that excite me,” she mentioned.

The 33-year-old might have called for retirement a bit early, but she undeniably left a mark in women’s tennis. Likewise, she is attempting to do the same as a businesswoman as well, with a plethora of investments.

Back in 2020, Sharapova invested in a wellness company called ‘Therabody,’ which added to her ever-growing line of interests. The Russian has tremendous patience, which helps her scale massive success.
