One of the rare public instances of friendship between Serena and Kim was during the 2015 US Open. Serena, who had a phenomenal run at the slams that year, was the heavy favorite to win the title and complete the ‘Calendar’ Slam.

In the final eight, Serena faced none other than her sister, Venus. Before that huge matchup, the 23-time Grand Slam champion was seen hanging out with Kim Kardashian over a cup of tea. Serena went on to defeat Venus in a three-set thriller in the quarter-finals. However, she did not grab the trophy as she was defeated by Roberta Vinci in the semis.

Looking at the tennis season of both the sisters, Serena managed to reach the semi-finals at the ‘happy slam’ this year, where she lost to Naomi Osaka. Serena’s Wimbledon run had a lot of hopes riding on it but was hampered as she had an unfortunate slip during her first round match against Aliaksandra Sasnovich.

On the other hand, Venus Williams participated in various tournaments and might continue to do so next year on the WTA tour. The 2022 Australian Open is what the Williams sisters will be targeting in order to make an impact for the rest of the year.
