During their glorious career, they both also suffered some heavy defeats when they faced each other. But they never let their rivalry affect their off-court relationship. Evert recently revealed how the two consoled each other in the locker room following their defeats.

Chris Evert revealed the emotional aspect of her rivalry with Martina Navratilova
Evert was recently featured in a podcast, where she talked about her remarkable career as a legendary athlete. Unsurprisingly, she talked about her famous rivalry with fellow legend Navratilova. She revealed how they used to be the last two in the locker room after their matches. Evert stated, “We were the last two in the locker room. And, you know, it was always a little tense.”

She further revealed how they consoled each other in the locker room after one of them would lose against the other. The American tennis legend stated, “But one of us would win one of us would lose we go back in the locker room and what and we one of us would be comforting the other one.”

Evert also stated how they used to put their arms around each other to console the other. She said, “One of us would be probably crying and the other one would come over and put their arm around you that yeah, we, you know, how can you not get close when you are in that situation?”
Evert and Navratilova have won 18 Grand Slam singles titles each. Together, they revolutionized the sport. Despite their historical rivalry, they remain close friends to this day.
