Legendary Siblings Venus and Serena Williams Encounter Big Blow to Rankings, Crash Out of WTA Top 200

It’s been over two decades since American tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams have ruled the scenes in tennis. However, they are lately not playing tennis actively, which has affected their WTA Rankings.
Post the Australian Open 2022, Serena will be ranked on the 244th spot in the WTA Rankings. While Venus will be ranked 461 in the world. It does sound shocking when hearing it at first, but they have unfortunately not achieved much success in recent times.

Are Venus and Serena Williams out of the scenes?
They did not feature in the Australian Open this year as they are still struggling with their injuries. The sisters are not featured in tournaments as they incurred injury towards the end of the season. Serena has not played in the US Open due to a hamstring injury and Venus was suffering from a leg injury.

Prior to that, the 23-time Grand Slam winner twisted her ankle during the opening round match at the Wimbledon Championships and was forced to retire from the match during the early stages. Venus lost in the second round.

At the French Open, Serena crashed out in the fourth round and also had an average clay season. Venus too failed to impress. She exited the tournament after losing in the first round.
Serena performed fairly well in the Australian Open last season when she came as far as the semifinal before going down to eventual champion Naomi Osaka. Sadly, Venus made an early exit in the second round.

It has been some time since we have seen the sisters compete in action. They do intend to continue competing on the Tour. Fans can expect to see them in action soon when the tennis shifts to America post the first Grand Slam tournament of the season. We wish them a speedy recovery.
