However, the five-time Grand Slam champion bid farewell to the game of tennis in 2020. And on Friday, she was seen having a great time on the streets of New York along with Hollywood star Laura Brown.

On 9th September 2022, Laura Brown took to Instagram to share a beautiful post. She tagged Sharapova with the caption, stating, It’s the dream and we’re living it.” The former World No. 1 then initiated the conversation under the post with the comment, “Let’s take this show on the road!!”

In addition to Sharapova’s tennis success, Forbes reported that the former world No. 1 was the highest-paid female athlete in the world for the previous 11 years. She also launched the Sugarpova brand and the charitable Maria Sharapova Foundation after announcing her retirement in 2020.

The rivalry between Sharapova V/s Serena Williams

Maria Sharapova’s stats don’t look good against Serena Williams, who has won 18 straight matches against her. On the other hand, Sharapova did triumph over her rival in the 2004 Wimbledon final early in her career.

The Maria Sharapova vs. Serena Williams match was more than just a rivalry despite Serena’s 23 Grand Slam singles titles to Sharapova’s 5. They played each other 23 times, with Serena Williams coming out on top on 20 occasions. Maria Sharapova, 32, won her final match against Serena Williams via walkover at the 2019 US Open.
