In a recent interview, she talked about going back to Belarus with his remains. “We collect all the documents to transport Konstantin’s remains to Belarus. Minsk is his homeland, there is his brother, relatives. I have a lot of friends there, I’m on good terms with Kostya’s parents. And our children have Belarusian citizenship. Let’s see how it goes.”
She further talked about how their future in the US is murky. “Life in the USA is expensive; I don’t know where we’ll find ourselves. While the children have a school here, and it will be visible there. Now we have to solve a lot of issues that, of course, we have not encountered before.”
Aside from her passing, another piece of news from Sabalenka kicked up a whirlwind of speculation. She shared a post to address Koltsov’s passing as she broke her silence after the news went live.

She wrote, “Konstantin’s death is an unthinkable tragedy, and while we were no longer together, my heart is broken. Please respect my privacy and his family’s privacy during this difficult time.” While her heart being broken was something fans expected, the fact that they were no longer together threw some fans for a loop.
