Serena intends to play on WTA tour soon after Australian Open withdrawal
The American is eyeing for a record 24th Grand Slam title this year as she might try to put in some match practice before the start of the French Open. She followed the same strategy last year. If Serena is fit, she could very well be part of Miami Open to be held in March.

Last year, the 23-time major champion was not fortunate as she struggled to make a mark in events after making it to the semis at the ‘happy slam’. En route the semis, Serena defeated the likes of Victoria Azarenka, Simona Halep, and Anastasia Potapova.

In the final four, the American lost to Naomi Osaka in straight sets as the latter went on to clinch her fourth major title in Melbourne. With each passing year, there is intense competition on the WTA singles circuit as a new champions are continuously emerging from the next generation talent.
Amidst the increasing challenges from fellow players, it remains to be seen whether Serena Williams will go on to clinch one more title and extend her greatness in the history of the sport.
