‘Living the Dream in Miami’ – Danielle Collins Lays Bare Her off Day Rituals Ahead of Home Tournament Swansong

Danielle Collins is on a roll at the WTA 1000 event taking place in her home state of Florida, as she is now one win away from being crowned the champion. As she has now reached her first 1000 final in Miami, the American tennis star recently brought to light her off-day rituals that might have helped her during this remarkable campaign.

After winning her semifinal match, Collins opened up about how she has made some great memories this week both on and off the court at the Miami Open. In her post-match press conference,  the former number 7 player said, “Yeah, to have made the finals, first finals of a 1000 level in my home state during my last season, this is just, like, great. I mean, the memories made this week on and off the court, yeah, I’m just over the moon.”

Now that it is her off day, the unseeded American player disclosed that she is going to hit the golf course and also play some tennis. She said,  “A day off tomorrow, hit the golf course, play a little tennis. Living the dream. Living the dream in Miami. Yeah, I’m playing great tennis. Having some good battles out there against really great players. That should give me a lot of confidence for Saturday.”

Playing golf on her off days has now become a routine for Collins, as she also talked about how the sport has helped her perform well at her home tournament.

After her straight-set quarterfinal win against her French opponent Caroline Garcia, the American player was asked how she managed to look so relaxed throughout the WTA 1000 event., Collins, who has been staying at a resort where there is a beautiful golf course, revealed that playing a totally disparate sport has helped her to perform well on the tennis court.

In her post-match on-court interview, the 30-year-old player said, “Maybe it could also be like because I have been playing a little bit more golf.
