Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia has graciously progressed into the semi-finals at WTA Indian Wells. On her remarkable journey, she vanquished some fine players like Yulia Putintseva and Shelby Rogers.

However, she registered her biggest victory in the round of 16 against former French Open champion Iga Swiatek. Ostapenko thrashed Swiatek in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.

In the press conference after the quarter-finals, she revealed idolizing the 23-time Grand Slam winner, Serena Williams. Moreover, on several occasions, Ostapenko has adoring Williams’ gaming style.

She stated,” Of course, Serena, I was, I love the way she played and, I mean she’s still playing now but yeah, she was like my idol, I think. she was the one I was looking up and she was playing very aggressive and it was very nice and entertaining to watch her she has like a lot of emotions when she plays.

Ostapenko to face Victoria Azarenka

Jelena Ostapenko has booker her place in the final four of Indian Wells. In the semi-finals of the competition, she’ll face the two-time Grand Slam champion, Victoria Azarenka.
