This year’s Wimbledon came as a ray of hope for the Tunisian player Ons Jabeur where she had her mind set on the goal. To reach that stage, she took down defending champion Elena Rybakina, and Australian Open winner Aryna Sabalenka. But then, things went down in the most heartbreaking way possible. She faced a nearly impossible defeat in straight sets against unseeded player Marketa Vondrousova.

And the post-match on-court interview was an emotional rollercoaster ride for Ons Jabeur and her husband Karim Kamoun who could not control their tears. And now, Kamoun is still fighting his way to make peace with the heartbreaking loss.

Watching Ons Jabeur lose the Wimbledon finals was an ordeal for everyone. She was undoubtedly the favorite in the finals of the SW19. However, seeing her lose in straight sets has disrupted the emotional dynamics of her fans. Ons tried to hold herself upright during the post-match interview but both she and her husband could not control their tears from falling down.

Even now, Karim Kamoun, her personal trainer and husband is fighting his way to acceptance. He stated, “Yes this was painful, yes this was really tough.” Giving voice to his emotions, he added, “Yes, this 1 made me cry like a baby. It?s ok to show emotions.”

However, he has found a silver lining in his overwhelming emotions. Kamoun said, “Emotions are fuel that?ll make you stronger, wiser, & I?m pretty sure we?re on the right path. You just need to believe & keep working hard.”

Jabeur herself is of the same opinion. She is not letting this defeat of hers hold her back from the disappointment she has felt.

She envisions coming back stronger with the support of her loved ones and fans to eventually win a Grand Slam one day.

The Tunisian star had a lot at stake at this year’s Wimbledon. She was going to become the first African woman to win a Grand Slam title. However, that dream still remains to be fulfilled.

After her match, she called this loss the biggest and most painful loss of her career. Despite missing out on two other Grand Slam opportunities, Jabeur considers this one the most heartbreaking one.
