Earlier this year, she announced that she’ll call an end to her career after the 2024 season. Now, she’s determined to have one last laugh before her retirement. Her grit and determination have translated into massive success for her, as she looks invincible at the moment. Collins’ brilliant run has also been recognized by her compatriot, Madison Keys.

Yesterday, Collins lifted the title at Charleston, the second consecutive title for her after emerging victorious at Miami Open. As a result, Keys took no time to appreciate her efforts.

In the summit clash at the Charleston Open, Collins blanked Daria Kasatkina in straight sets 6-2, 6-1. The dominant nature of the victory was proof that Collins looked invincible of late. Following her victory, Madison Keys took to social media and shared a story of Collins’ victory. Additionally, she wrote, “We aren’t worthy.”

Keys’ sarcastic note indicates how there is no stopping Danielle Collins at the moment and no player can defeat her with the form she is in. For the record, the American star is on a run of 13 successive victories, with titles in Miami and Charleston.

Despite the form she is in, Collins doesn’t have much time left on the WTA Tour. She suffers from endometriosis and has been struggling with it for years. This was a major reason behind her early retirement. Even her Charleston Open final opponent, Daria Kasatkina, had some words to say about her premature retirement.

Kasatkina is going to miss Collins

During the presentation ceremony after the Charleston Open final, Kasatkina paid a heartfelt tribute to Collins and congratulated her for winning the tournament. Additionally, she mentioned her early retirement and how it would affect women’s tennis.

Meanwhile, owing to her brilliant run, Collins has surged back to the top 15 of the WTA rankings. This has certainly proved to be a cherry on the cake for her and Collins can soak in this sweet moment of success.
