Aryna Sabalenka is a fierce competitor on-court. But off the court, her playful banter is relatable to many. And fans missed this, especially after her ex-boyfriend, Konstantin Koltsov’s tragic death in March. But they do not need to worry now. Recently, fans witnessed Sabalenka’s fun moments after she engaged in fun interaction following her quarterfinal victory at the Madrid Open. Visibly uncomfortable during the interview, Sabalenka made everyone laugh with a touch of humor and quirkiness.

The former World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka is currently enjoying her Madrid Open quarterfinal victory over Mirra Andreeva. She is now due to play her semifinal match against the Stuttgart Open winner Elena Rybakina. Despite the seriousness of back-to-back matches, Sabalenka is back with her fun-filled interviews. After her latest victory, she was found in good spirits during a post-match interview. But one thing bugged the 25-year-old player throughout the interview. It was nothing but a culinary mishap that she went through earlier in the day.

After covering a part of her sweater with her hands for the entire interview, she couldn’t help but address it at the end of it. She chuckled and said, “It’s uncomfortable for me to stand like that, I stained my T-shirt with olive sauce”.

Even last year after winning a one-hour-long match against Clara Burrell in the US Open, she seemed to be in a rush. And when the interviewer asked her, she said, “Of course. I need to eat. I need to go for a good lunch. I’m in a rush.” And not only that, when she won last year’s title at the Madrid Open, she had an interesting reward for herself.

Aryna Sabalenka’s hilarious wish after her last year’s Madrid Open victory

Aryna Sabalenka has two Madrid Open titles to her name. Last year she earned the title after beating Iga Swiatek in a three-set thriller. And interestingly, she had her final match a day after she turned 25. Therefore, Saba made it clear that sweets would not suffice after her latest triumph. Rather, she expressed her wish to have local dishes in Rome, where she was supposed to go next for the tournament.
