How can women expect equality and respect for their product when they can’t even fake respect for their product… it’s laughable how terrible this was from Sabalenka. Like in that moment it doesn’t even occur to her to make up an answer for the benefit of her sport …. https://t.co/px0vQusFXx

On the other hand, another fan was frustrated with her answer considering that the sport was on the “verge of bankruptcy”
With the current state of the sport she plays a big role in, on the verge of bankruptcy even, why would you say that? Just lie 🤷🏻♂️ https://t.co/ehPxgpuzjZ

In addition, a fan mentioned how, at first, he thought that the 25-year-old was the perfect fit for the US Open title, but now, taking into consideration her contentious statement, he believed that Gauff won at the right time.

Lastly, a fan was literally baffled at how a woman could say such a thing when women’s tennis is fighting for equal prize money and finding ways to attract more eyeballs to the sport.
I am truly baffled as to why a woman currently playing in the WTA would say anything as daft as this. If you want your prize money, you need people to watch, but why would anyone watch women’s tennis if even the world number two thinks men’s tennis is more interesting? https://t.co/SHBJSx6oZD

Not only that, she is one of the active tennis players, who has openly shared her stand against the WTA. Last year, the former world number one blamed the organization for their not-so-good WTA Finals management.
When Sabalenka spoke against the WTA

She stated, “I have to say, though, that I am very disappointed with the WTA and the experience so far at the WTA Finals. As a player, I feel really disrespected by the WTA. I think most of us do. This is not the level of organization we expect for the finals.”
Nonetheless, it won’t be wrong to say that, unknowingly, the former world number one might have hurt her fans with her recent controversial statement. Nevertheless, what are your thoughts on the same? Do let us know in the comment section below.
