Danielle Collins is continuing to turn down every other opponent falling in her way at the Madrid Open. After securing a massive win in Miami, the fans were quite excited to see her form and it seems like she is projecting the show that they wished to binge. In her recent showdown against Jaqueline Cristian, the 30-year-old managed to secure another hard-fought victory. However, it was a confident reaction in the middle of the showdown that made highlights.

Collins seemed to be struggling against her Romanian opponent soon after the match started. While Christian easily managed to get the first set in her name, her body language clearly depicted a boost in her confidence. Soon after the second set began and the scoreboard depicted an even situation of 2-2, Danielle Collins disappointed herself with a double fault.

Stopping herself to avoid any heated arguments, the American WTA star decided to reply with her racket and therefore ended up getting the second set and finally the showdown in her name. The incident not only showed Collins’ potential to rise up from a situation of immense pressure along with showcasing her ability to keep her calm.

Danielle Collins teaches spectator a lesson of respect

During her same match against Jaqueline Cristian, the American had to tackle a situation of extreme pressure. Adding to the discomfort, a spectator consistently continued to disturb her by making degrading comments. After multiple attempts to keep her calm, Collins finally decided to react.

“You come out here and play and you do what I do, okay? Have a little more respect,” she said, teaching the disrespectful spectator a lesson and to shut him down so that she could regain her focus back on the match.

As planned, Collins managed to get the control back in her hands, ending up winning the showdown 3-6, 6-4, 6-1. Now that she is moving ahead on her run for the title in Madrid, it still remains to be seen what else the fans would get to witness.
