For each player who enters the official tennis circuit, the first match and the first win is always special. The crowd present at the arena in Madrid experienced a similar incident as Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva played her first WTA 1000 clay-court match. While everyone expected it to be a regular showdown that guides one of the two competitors ahead of the tour, it turned out to be a complete pack of emotions instead.

Showcasing an excellent performance against her opening match rival Lin Zhu, the 18-year-old stunned the arena with her dominance. Serving a defeat to her Chinese opponent, she managed to secure a straight-set win with a final scoreline of 6-4, 6-3. However, the numbers weren’t the only thing that created highlights.

Soon after creating the special moment for herself and her fans, the Andorran couldn’t contain her happiness and therefore burst into tears in the middle of the court. Moving ahead to complete the formalities of greeting her opponent and the chair umpire, the wild card player rushed toward the stands to locate her parents.
