Garbine Muguruza is ready to move on in life, leaving tennis behind. Everyone in her immediate vicinity has been eager to hear about her next step ever since she made her retirement announcement. The thirty-year-old tennis player recently made light of the fact that, only two weeks into her retirement, she is already weary of people asking her about her life after retirement.

After having a successful career, the 2x Grand Slam champion has no grand plans for her post-retirement life. While she has made that quite clear, in a recent interview with Tennis Channel, she shared her thoughts on getting these kinds of questions again and again. “Gosh, everyone wants to know and it’s just so it hasn’t passed the the needed time yet. I’m trying to figure it out,” she stated.

Furthermore, she raised questions about how everyone wanted to know about her future while she was still active in the tennis arena. She added, “I’m definitely want to be involved with the media with tennis but also try different things why not I’ve always been around tennis so I don’t know I’m open to opportunities, let’s see.”

On a different note, the former world number one revealed her excitement for a time of relaxation in an interview with Eurosport after announcing her retirement, saying she is looking forward to “doing nothing.” Muguruza stated, “People expect a great answer from me, I’m leaving tennis because I’m going to do this or that, I’m going to go into business, I’m going to develop a cookie – whatever it is.”

Subsequently, the two-time Grand Slam champion also emphasized on the fact that she won’t be leaving tennis behind. But at the same time, she will just focus on different things for a particular time. Even though Muguruza only joined the professional tour in 2012, she became well-known very quickly and won her maiden Grand Slam championship four years later.

Muguruza sheds light on the difficulties professional female athletes encounter in accepting family desires and settling down, despite her remarkable career accomplishments. Moreover, even Martina Navratilova shared her take on the 30-year-old tennis player’s retirement, which will reportedly take place after the French Open.
