Fans are quicker than some tennis personalities when it comes to being updated about the Tour. This was proven recently as a WTA legend is far behind the schedule of the Madrid Open. The Spanish clay Masters has reached the semifinal in the men’s singles and final in women’s singles. However, a former number 1 is still under the impression that the quarterfinals are yet to be played.

Ana Ivanovic, the 2007 Madrid Open champion, shows that she either has problems keeping up with tennis or gets confused about the details of a post. The WTA page shared the quarterfinal clashes on April 30. Ivanovic found herself stoked for the matches on May 2, after the first semifinal had concluded. She replied to the post saying, “Amazing matchups 💪🏻 I hope to see some exciting tennis 🎾.”

Her reply came after the semifinals had concluded, and fans awaited the final between Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka. Likely a mistake from the 2007 French Open champion’s end, it was not taken kindly by fans who made fun of her with their replies.

One fan talked to her as if a grandma speaking condescendingly, informing her the clashes were already over.

Frustrated by her antics, one user wondered why she behaves in the way she does.

One commenter could not believe that the comment was the work of a real human and it was artificial intelligence in disguise.

Since Internet Explorer is a browser infamous for being slow, one user believed that Ivanovic still used it.

Another fan found her comment incredulous as they said she likely lives on a planet that is two days behind Earth.

Fans troll whoever they can online, and Ivanovic is not safe from them. Along with her, we recently saw Coco Gauff’s coach being trolled for falling for a bait post.

Tennis fans laugh at Coco Gauff’s coach after he falls for Carlos Alcaraz sarcastic post

Brad Gilbert was involved in the making of the movie Challengers. He was filled with pride as he could serve as a guide for the movie. However, the pride also became his downfall as a slip left the tennis community in splits. A troll post about Challengers by a tennis fan showed Alcaraz saying that he was in a similar position to Zendaya’s character, i.e., in a situation with another ATP player who used to date his girlfriend but shall remain unnamed.

Gilbert fell for the troll post and tagged Challengers ‘X’ account on the post. Fans could not believe their eyes as one wrote, “Coco come get your coach omg.” Another fan thought about rectifying it for Gilbert, but let it be. One fan wrote that Gilbert is a certified boomer, and another wrote that he was advertising the movie for free.
