Serena Williams is always a player to watch out for when she steps on the tennis court. She has had a legendary tennis career, often finishing on the podium. Further, the younger Williams sister has defined success during her career spanning around 25 years now.

During her illustrious career, she has gone on to win 23 Grand Slam titles, which is just one less than Margaret Court’s all-time record of 24 major titles. Additionally, she was one of the highest-paid athletes in the world during her prime days.

Not only has she found success on the tennis court, but also has inspired the next generation of players to take up the sport. Amongst them are the likes of Naomi Osaka and Coco Gauff, who are among the elite in women’s tennis. Recently, she shared useful words for youngsters following in her footsteps.

Serena Williams inspires youngsters
The American legend posted a video on her official Instagram handle, with a strong piece of advice for younger players. She said, “Mentorship means a lot to me. I feel like in my position, I have an opportunity to mentor and be inspiring young athletes whether it’s male or female. I embrace leading by example, otherwise, I just go and do the best I can.”

Further, Serena added, “Some advice I would give to young athletes, you know, just make goals for yourself. I think it’s so important to have an end goal and then on that before you get to that end goal, how smaller goals get you there. If I could tell my young self one thing, I would just say, you know, stay strong.”

Serena is eager to step on the court after a long injury lay-off. She has returned to light training in order to regain fitness ahead of her potential return to the sport. If all goes well, we might see Serena returning at Wimbledon this year.
