Gilkes, who was no other than any usual child in the 80s fell in love with his unique acting skills and the way he presented himself on the big screen. “You were a superhero to any child growing in the 80s. Tank You Apollo/Carl Weathers,” wrote Gilkes in his Instagram story.

The tribute highlights how much Weathers, especially as Apollo Creed, meant to people back then. Alexander Gilkes, who adored the star while growing up paid a heartfelt tribute to him as he remembered him for all the good times that he brought in Gilkes’ life.
