Former American tennis ace Serena Williams has established herself in the business world as well. Now that the 41-year-old has retired from tennis, she is dedicating more time to her family and business interests. Williams owns a venture capital firm called Serena Ventures.
Over the years, Williams has invested in different budding enterprises. While the prime idea is to make good investments, Williams always looks for an x-factor in any company. Recently, she revealed another of her investments. Here’s what she said.

Serena Williams speaks about her new investment
In a recent tweet, the former world number one came up with a video explaining her new investment. Through her company Serena Ventures, the 23-time Grand Slam champion has made an investment of $3 million in Wile. The company works for the health and betterment of women over 40 years of age.

Sharing the video on Twitter, Williams wrote, “The market ignores women over 40, one of the biggest consumer white spaces. At @SerenaVentures we empower women of every age. That’s why I invested in Wile.”

In the video, she said, “I’m Serena and I’m all about game changers. That’s why I want to talk about one of the companies we invested in at Serena Ventures called Wile.”
Serena Williams further added, “So their plant-based supplements are changing the game for women over 40 by targeting the effects of changing hormones. From moodiness to stress, poor sleep quality. We invested because women need to invest in ourselves and when we do, we thrive.”

While there is undoubtedly a great deal of money involved in tennis, especially being a top player for such a long time, Williams has earned well from the prize money itself.
However, the way she has invested her funds and has a stronghold in the business world is truly inspiring for her fans. Back in 2019, Serena Williams became the first athlete to feature on the Forbes list of the richest self-made women in America.

Using her firm Serena Ventures to invest in budding companies, mostly started by minorities and women, Serena has done well for herself. This year in June, she made it on to the Forbes list once again. Her estimated net worth as of now is around $260 million.
