Martina Navratilova and Wife Clear the Air on Tension Between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle at the Wimbledon Championships

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, often make the headlines for their royal duties. However, going back in time to 2019, the two became the talk of the town for their presumingly unpleasant body language towards each other at the 2019 Wimbledon. Three years later, Martina Navratilova and her wife, Julia Lemigova, have finally cleared the air.

The Czech-American player, along with the former Russian model, recently appeared in a podcast. During the podcast, the two opened up about sensing any tension between the two princesses of the British Royal family.

The podcast started with the two conversing about Martina’s tennis career and their relationship. However, going ahead in the conversation, the host of the podcast, renowned talk show host Andy Cohen, questioned the two, “Did you sense any tension between them (Middleton and Markel) at Wimbledon 2019?”

Reliving the 2019 Wimbledon, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle attended the 2019 women’s singles finals between Simona Halep and Serena Williams. The two Royals were joined by Martina Navratilova and Julia Lemigova, who were sitting behind them. Going through the match, the four were caught conversing with each other on numerous occasions.

“Not at all,” said Lemigova, answering Cohen’s question. Going ahead in the conversation, she further revealed the conversation she and Martina had with the two during the finals. “We talked about my nine puppies, which were born while having lunch, watching the Wimbledon finals,” Lemigova said. “That was our conversation. About the little puppies,” she further added.

While Lemigova gave a sign of no tension between the two princesses, it was the words of Navratilova that put the seal on it. Adding on to Lemigova’s words, she said, “They were fun. They were just enjoying the game.”

Going back to 2019, Middleton and Markle were seen sharing laughs and enthusiastic gestures during the match. However, the question about the tension between the two came to light when body language expert Judi James asserted, “Despite the seemingly friendly outing, it was clear that tensions were brewing.”
