Serena Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, are true Marvel superfans, sharing a deep passion for the superhero universe. Their mutual love for Marvel has not only fueled countless movie nights but has also become a unique bond that has brought them even closer, strengthening their bond at the very beginning of their relationship.

Recently, ESPN shared an Instagram post in which the couple talked about how, during their initial meeting in Paris, Ohanian won over Williams with his Marvel knowledge. Along with that, the caption read, “Alexis had Serena sold when he mentioned ‘Marvel’.”

Not only that, in the video, Williams stated, “He started talking like about Iron Man and stuff and Marvel and I’m that’s how that’s the way to my heart. Like this wasn’t just a superficial like hey l’ve watched a few movies. This is like I have deeply studied the text and I have strong opinions about this lore.”

Following that, Ohanian added, “And I guess I passed the test so that the next day I texted her and I was like, hey look last night was fun. But I’m going to pick you up. We’re gonna spend the day together in Paris, and it’s just going to be us during dinner.”

Just a few months ago, Ohanian, who is active on social media, tweeted about his experience watching the latest Hollywood release, Deadpool & Wolverine. While he eagerly anticipated the film, Serena decided to skip it due to its intense violence.

Ohanian humorously noted, “I had to go and see it (too violent for the Mrs.) by myself because I was tired of being so nervous online. That one epic cameo was the only one I knew about going in.” Despite attending solo, Ohanian didn’t miss the chance to praise the film’s cast for exceeding fan expectations.

Ohanian, who proudly identified as a fan of Marvel Comics from the 1990s, was happy to share his nostalgia with the younger generation by displaying an image of Professor Charles Xavier to Olympia.
