The friendship between Meghan Markle and Serena Williams, may not have been the same even though they had been pals since 2014. When Meghan didn’t turn up for the 23-time Grand Slam Champion’s baby shower, many suspicions were raised. Another dubious feather has now come to light, as Markle snubbed her close pal during a recent admission for Mariah Carey and Jameela Jamil.

Their friendship, developed from similar experiences and admiration for one another, has been widely shared and appreciated. As two influential women navigating their respective spheres of influence, Markle and Williams have leaned on each other for support, camaraderie, and solidarity. But, now the story is different!

The 42-year-old American actress recently announced her return to her podcast show, but at the same time, she might have left her friend behind in the process. The Duchess of Sussex announced starting the Archetypes podcast once again, and in that, she thanked the celebrities who came in season 1 for their contributions.

She said, “Mariah Carey spoke about the definition of being a diva; Mindy Kaling celebrated the choice to be single; Pamela Adlon lifted the lid on the pressure to be a wife and a mother; Issa Rae and Ziwe Fumudoh unpacked the loaded misconception that often comes with being a woman of color; and Jameela Jamil and Shohreh Agdashloo spoke about the courage that it takes to step up and speak out, even when it puts everything on the line.” 

But do you know that even the former world number one was a part of the podcast season, just like Mariah Carey and Jameela Jamil? In the episode with Serena Williams, both of them talked about the double standard women face when they are labeled as ambitious, but at the same time the ripple effect that comes on the different aspects of their lives.

Even after sharing a good bond, and making noise with their conversation, the Duchess of Sussex, not mentioning her friend in the list of celebrities that attended her podcast, raises a lot of questions and concerns at the same time. However, even the 42-year-old American actress was nowhere to be found at her friend’s baby shower last year.

When Markle missed Serena Williams’ baby shower 

Markle’s absence from the 42-year-old American tennis legend’s gender reveal party caught everyone’s attention. But at the same time, it also grabbed royal biographer Angela Levin’s eyes, as she stated the reason why she might have missed the party.

She stated, “Meghan is still very much thinking about herself, what she’s going to do, how it’s going to be, and how she can use people to move on and climb up the ladder … she’s a taker rather than a giver.” Even though the 42-year-old actress and the royal family have had a lot of disagreements since their 2018 wedding, it appears that her friendship with Williams has reached a breaking point.
