The American tennis legend, Serena Williams, also made a short appearance during the fourth episode of the Harry & Meghan Netflix documentary. In that episode, the 23-time singles Grand Slam champion lavished praise on her close friend’s ‘courageous’ decision to have her cultural music during the royal wedding. Williams praised Markle by saying, “To have her [Meghan’s] culture represented at that wedding was amazing. I loved it.”

During the royal wedding, the members of the gospel choir, Kingdom Choir, performed some renowned cultural songs, Stand By Me and This Little Light Of Mine. After her wedding in 2018, the Duchess of Sussex revealed that King Charles helped her choose the music theme for the wedding.

Notably, Serena Williams was absolutely impressed with Markle’s decision as it had never previously been done at a royal wedding. As result, Williams further praised her by saying, “And I thought it was really courageous and breaking boundaries without trying to.”
