Alexis Ohanian, husband of Serena Williams, is a geek by all meanings of the word. Like several other people around the world, Ohanian is a movie buff, especially for superhero movies. One of his favorite superheroes is the Dark Knight, Batman. The Reddit co-founder proved it true when he expressed his sadness at missing out on the chance to purchase Batman memorabilia.

Ohanian was most likely shedding tears at missing out on buying the item. The entrepreneur has a collection of many superhero items. One of his collections is of vintage stickers released by Marvel, which he flaunted on his Instagram page.

Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. Batman was created in 1939 and got his first live-action show in 1966. The series was an immense success and the reason people started loving the character with the black cape. The show housed several iconic gadgets, including the Batmobile, the Bat-Cuffs and the Batarang. Additionally, the show also featured several characters from the Batman comics. His partner, Robin, butler Alfred, and more featured in the show.

As it has become a show in the golden age of Batman, all items in the show are highly valuable. The items from the show cost immense amounts and have been sold off in auctions. One such item was the Batphone from the show. While Alexis Ohanian is a big nerd for superheroes, he was unaware of the auction and could not purchase it, even though the memorabilia was sold for a mere $16,250.

The only thing the business magnate could do now was expressing his grief on his social media. He took to Twitter and said, “How did I miss this auction???“.

Reddit creator shows off weird memento

In a post on his Instagram, Ohanian took fans to the past. While Marvel tried to cater to children, one of its product lines confused people of all ages. The American comic book publishers created a line of stickers which featured their most popular characters. In addition to Spider-Man and the Hulk, the Black Widow, Dr Octopus and Galactus all got a special sticker with a dialogue.

Rather than being happy, Ohanian and his fanbase felt confused by the dialogue of the characters. The 776 CEO couldn’t help but take a dig at Marvel, as he also shared the cards on his Instagram story with a caption poking their attempt at making money. Although embarrassing, Marvel would not repeat such a move in this day and age.
