Coco Gauff carried the advantage of being near home at the Miami Open

After facing disappointment at the Miami Open, in a post-match press conference, the Grand Slam champion opened up about how it felt to face a 4th round defeat in the home tournament. Along with that, she also highlighted one advantage, which came along with the fact that she lives nearly 45 minutes away from the tournament venue.

She said, “Yes and no. I think I’m the type of person every loss kind of weighs on me heavy, especially one like today where I felt like I could have done better and I felt like I had the match in control, especially after the second. Honestly, if anything, it kind of helps being home so I can just drive and be home and be in my own bed (smiling).”
