Miami Open: Danielle Collins’ Thumping Win Brings Compatriots Together as Gauff, Pegula, and Sloane Stephens Send Lovely Message

Danielle Collins has won her first WTA 1000 title! Just before a few months of her retirement, she changed the flow in which she wanted to see things for herself on the court by taking home the victory after defeating Elena Rybakina in the final round of the Miami Open. After the victory, while the whole tennis world cheered up for her, a lot of American stars came forward including Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula, and reacted to her amazing victory at the Miami Open.

The former 7th-ranked tennis player has been in the headlines for the past few months because of her retirement announcement, but now it’s her victory smile that has received amazing reactions and brought all American WTA stars together for her.

While Danielle Collins’ winning has taken social media by storm, the 20-year-old American tennis player, Coco Gauff, took to her Instagram account to share a picture of Collins with her first Masters 1000 title. Along with that amazing picture, she also tagged the Miami Open winner and added a series of orange hearts to share her love for the victory.

In addition, Gauff’s doubles partner shared a WTA video in which the 30-year-old was seen giving a champion’s smile as she posed with the trophy after the victory in front of the crowd itself and wrote, “DC 🔥🙌🏼”.

Sloan Stephens also congratulated  her on Twitter, sharing her reaction to how the Miami Open final was, “We love to see it!!!!!!! Congratulations Danielle.” 

Not only that, in an on-court interview after the victory, she went all emotional as she highlighted how playing in her home tournament, was something that made her emotional in the middle of the match.

Danielle Collins’ emotional thoughts over the win 

Carrying various thoughts in her mind, the 30-year-old American tennis player not only just played the Miami Open but literally took the trophy home, after the match, she opened up about how she had to stop herself from getting emotional in the middle of the match. She said, “To come out here and feel like I’m playing in front of thousands of my best friends and everybody that was pushing me to get over this hurdle today, it just meant the world.”

On the other hand, she also highlighted how it was an emotional moment, and she kept on telling herself to just keep every emotion behind her for the match. But even after going through a lot of emotions, she felt that seeing the match environment was amazing, and it was something that she had never experienced before in her life.
