Miami Open draws suggest a maternal clash to earn a showdown against Coco Gauff

The wait is over for the Miami Open draws. As the match schedule is finally released, Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka is set to face a tough challenge from fellow mother Elina Svitolina that will set the stage for a highly anticipated clash with the US Open champion Coco Gauff. Osaka, who recently returned to professional tennis after becoming a mother, will be facing Svitolina in a mother-against-mother showdown.

If Osaka manages to overcome the fierce competition that Svitolina brings on the court, she will advance to a potential showdown against Coco Gauff, giving fans a chance to witness the match that they missed at the Indian Wells.

Coco Gauff’s path for the upcoming tournament appears to be filled with several other challenges against tougher competitors including Ashlyn Krueger, Marta Kostyuk, and Ons Jabeur. While fans are consistently expecting Osaka to regain her dominant form, it still remains to be seen if the Miami Open will be the tournament to meet their expectations and give fans the showdown that they are eagerly waiting for.

Naomi Osaka still looking for comeback momentum

Naomi Osaka has been trying to gain stability ever since she made a comeback in the tennis scene. Starting from her participation in Brisbane, the Japanese tennis star appears to be struggling with her form, as she couldn’t secure an evident position in any of the tours, including the recent one at Indian Wells.

Regarding this, Osaka said – “The competitor in me is really frustrated that I’m not winning these matches, of course…I think I just have to keep living day by day and training hard and playing a lot more matches, and hopefully my dreams will come true.”

She further added: “There’s a voice in my head that is: ‘Who are you to think you can come back and immediately start winning matches?’ I don’t know. I kind of always expect myself to stand a chance anyway. So I guess just being nicer to myself is like a key thing that I learned in my time away.”
