“She’ll carry the torch” – Collins chooses American youngster as heir

Collins is renowned as the queen of ‘Come On’ because she frequently cries it after winning a point. When she leaves, someone else will have to take up the mantle. “I feel like Peyton Stearns. You know, Peyton Stearns is my little buddy and watching her compete and come out there ’cause she played for Texas is like, so much fun watching her. So, she’ll carry the torch.”

Stearns was glad she was chosen as the follower by the American star and wrote, “Hook ’em baby!!” as the response. Stearns also has a fiery scream like the 2022 Australian Open finalist and is hoping to elevate her career to the level where she can be a similar icon as Collins. Currently, she aims to bring her game up to the level of Collins, who is hoping to have her best Miami Open run.
