The tennis community is all excited for the blockbuster opening round fixtures of one of the biggest East American WTA 1000 tournaments, the Miami Open. One such spectacular showdown will feature American tennis star Shelby Rogers squaring off against the former 49-ranked player, Linda Fruhvirtova, in the round of 128.
The WTA 1000 event features some of the big guns competing on the outdoor hard courts at the Hard Rock Stadium. With the likes of Rogers and Fruhvirtova now vying for a place in the round of 64 fixtures, it will be interesting to see who emerges victorious in this opener between two players of high caliber.

After her qualifying round exit at the ATX Open, Shelby Rogers is now back on the court at her home tournament in Miami Gardens. This season, the American player has participated in only two tournaments, including the Australian Open, where she got knocked out after a first-round defeat against the Brit, Emma Raducanu.

Linda Fruhvirtova, on the other hand, is coming to this outdoor hardcourt event after her qualifying round defeat at the Indian Wells Masters. Prior to this, the 18-year-old player also participated in the San Diego Open, where she failed to secure a spot in the main draw after her defeat against Daria Saville.
