The R128 match between Sloane Stephens and Angelique Kerber at the ongoing edition of the Miami Open will also mark their eighth meeting on the women’s tour. In their previous meeting at the 2021 US Open, the German player defeated Stephens in three sets. However, in their overall H2H record, it’s Stephens who currently has a 5-2 lead.

Prediction: Stephens to emerge victorious in the R128 match of the Miami Open

The American player, who is currently in the top 50 rankings, will be playing on her home turf, where she can take advantage of the crowd. Given her current ranking on the tour and past encounters against her German opponent, Stephens is the favorite to win this match. Kerber, on the other hand, has only played a handful of games since her comeback on the tour this season.
