Recently, American tennis star Taylor Townsend made a stellar comeback to defeat Italy’s Lucia Bronzetti by 3-6,6-3,6-4 in the first round of the Miami Open. Townsend currently looks in good touch and she ain’t stopping any sooner. But more than her emphatic comeback in the match, it was her celebration with her 4YO son, Adyn Aubrey Johnson which caught the eyes of the fans after the match.

Taylor Townsend has been currently playing the dual role of a mother and a player on the Tour. And she has been absolutely nailing it so far. She often shares her heartwarming moments with her son on social media. No matter if it’s on the court or off the court, she’s always more than ready to tackle whatever challenges come her way. After winning the match against Bronzetti, the 27-year-old American tennis star, Taylor Townsend ran straight towards her son, who was watching her play from the sidelines. Townsend took him in her arms and kissed him on his cheeks. Fans absolutely loved that moment and clapped at the tennis star for her heartwarming gesture after her victory.

During the Italian Open last year, Townsend revealed how thinking about her son helped her calm her nerves and settle down. She said, “It was actually crazy because when I was walking on the court, and there were cameras in my face, I was thinking, ‘Hi AJ‘. It was one of those moments where I was feeling butterflies. Just thinking about him at that moment. Kind of made me settle down.” She stated that everything she does is for her son.

Everything I do, and these moments are so worth it because it shows the hard work that I am doing, it’s paying off. I’m making it count,” said Taylor Townsend. She hoped that he was watching her match that time and added, “I’m not done yet. This is just the beginning.

This time her son was present right in front of her during the match and guess what? She isn’t done yet at the 2024 Miami Open. But what did Townsend say after the match?

‘It was like an internal battle’- Townsend’s post-match reaction

Shortly after the match against, Lucia Bronzetti, the American stepped onto the Tennis Channel show and gave her reactions to the match. She said, “It was crazy” and revealed that she kept herself from thinking too much after the disappointing first set. She added, “so much more tennis to play like let that go and let’s move on.

Taylor Townsend continued, “So it was like an internal battle that I felt like I was fighting for a while.” Talking more about the match against the Italian player, she said, “It was a great mental battle for me today that’s what I’m proud of the fact that I was able to overcome myself and that kind of that internal voice that sometimes makes you doubt yourself.
