French tennis star, Caroline Garcia is currently on a dream run at the 2024 Miami Open. She has already defeated Naomi Osaka and Coco Gauff to make it into the QF of the tournament. Can she make her magic work yet again in the ‘Magic City’ against the former world no.7, Danielle Collins?

Caroline Garcia’s victory against Coco Gauff was her first win against a Top 10 player since her title run at the 2022 WTA Finals, having previously reached the SF of the tournament in her debut campaign in 2018. Collins would love to reach the last 4 of the tournament yet again when she steps onto the court on Wednesday.

Danielle Collins started her season with an R32 appearance at Brisbane International. She lost her first match in Hobart. However, in the 2024 AO, she managed to get through to the second round. Then she travelled to Abu Dhabi, but could only reach the R16 before making two QF appearances in her next two tournaments. At the Indian Wells, she was defeated by Iga Swiatek in the second round. But in Miami, she looks to be in good touch.

Caroline Garcia, on the other hand, started her campaign this season in Adelaide and reached the R16 over there. After that, she took part in the 2024 AO, where she defeated Naomi Osaka in the first round of the tournament. But she failed to continue her run. She also had a disappointing run at the Middle East tour this year but made it to the R32 at the Indian Wells. In the last match, she defeated, Coco Gauff by a 6-3,1-6,6-2 margin. Garcia would look forward to carrying this momentum in her next match. But who’s ahead in the H2H?

The American, notably, has managed to win 17 wins this season and all of these victories have come on hard courts. For now, Danielle Collins seems to be slightly ahead in this contest. Nevertheless, Caroline Garcia is a former world number 4; so one never knows.
