After her brilliant qualifying round victories, the American player managed to overcome Robin Montgomery in the first round, but she was later knocked out by her compatriot Madison Keys in the round-of-64 game.

Xinyu vs Baptiste: Head-to-Head

The R128 match between Wang Xinyu and Hailey Baptiste at this WTA 1000 tournament will also mark their third meeting on the court. In their previous two meetings at the W100 Bonita Springs and W60 Charlottesville, the Chinese tennis star has managed to overcome Baptiste and currently has a 2-0 lead in their H2H record.

The Chinese player has established herself in the top 50 spots on the WTA Tour, as she previously also attained the world No. 32 ranking. Given her current ranking and past encounters against her American opponent, Xinyu is the favorite to win this match.
