Serena Williams has had a huge impact throughout her illustrious tennis career. Her achievements in the sport are known to all and need no description. As her legendary career, which has spanned for more than 25 years, is coming to an end, Serena is garnering praise from all corners of the tennis fraternity for her astonishing accomplishments. Tennis legend John McEnroe was the latest to show his respect and admiration for the former World Number 1.

Apart from breaking and creating records on the WTA tour, the American legend also raised her voice against gender and racial inequalities prevalent in society. Further, through her business ventures, Serena is aiming to make this society a better place to live in.

John McEnroe highlights Serena Williams’ greatness

Before resuming his role as a commentator during the US Open, the 63-year-old talked about Serena. He elaborated on the greatness of Serena while comparing her to other legends in the sporting world. He said, “All you need to say about Serena is that she’s put herself in that pantheon of GOATs – Billie Jean King, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Tom Brady. That’s where Serena is.”

Comparing her to the likes of Stephen Curry, McEnroe said, “Serena took it to that next level because she had the greatest serve ever, better than a lot of guys. I would compare her in a way, the way she changed it, to Steph Curry. Everyone is shooting 3-pointers, but no one does it as well as him.”
