Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian is the leading investor of the popular women’s soccer club, Angel City FC. Recently, the fixture between San Diego FC and Angel City FC broke the attendance record of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).

But despite the historic record, some fans were still not convinced of the popularity of women’s soccer and they mocked the soccer club. It was Ohanian who came out to shut down the fan who asserted that women’s sport is not worth watching.

The leading investor of Angel City FC, Ohanian recently took to Twitter to celebrate the historic attendance record in the National Women’s Soccer League. A record-breaking 32,000 fans watched the match between San Diego FC and Angel City FC. Ohanian was proud of the achievement of a women’s sport and he took this as a perfect opportunity to condemn people who mock women’s sports. He sarcastically tweeted “nO oNe WAnTS to wATCh wOmeN’s spoRTs. (32,000+ for a regular season @NWSL match)”

But some fans were still questioning the popularity of women’s soccer. One of the fans responded to Ohanian’s tweet by stating, “More like its not profitable(definitely not worth 100 million) At 22$ a seat thats 704k$ multiplied by 11 home games, thats 7.7 million in revenue from tickets, deduct the cost to pay the players, workers, stadium operations. You are breaking even. Merch and ads might = 2 million” The fan stated that the amount Ohanian invested in his soccer club is not worth it as he couldn’t make profits from the fixtures.
