Her off-court endeavors continue to astonish and leave people awestruck. Recently, Venus Williams took on an interior design project to renovate an old hotel with her firm V Starr.

A glamorous makeover
Venus Williams took on the project of renovating Palm Beach Gardens’ PGA National Resort, which was first opened in 1981 in South Florida. An investment of $100millon and the assistance of the player and her firm led to astounding results. The theme for the renovation of the hotel was basically the breeze swept sandy beaches of the region. Furthermore, she took inspiration from the splinters of sunlight that shines through the palm trees and focused on depicting South Florida’s lifestyle. Venus Williams stated, “The inspiration for the spa came directly from its surroundings.”

Learning design
Venus Williams has always been interested in designing, and it comes naturally to her. Moreover, she has learned and earned a degree in design from the Art Academy of Fort Lauderdale. As for her role in the space’s transformation, Williams said, “I don’t believe I ever really transitioned into design because I think it was always within me. I was at a great place in my tennis career, but my mom has always encouraged me to explore my creative side, and I had a passion for design, so I pursued an education in it and launched V Starr.”
