The veteran tennis legend recently launched a book, ‘Trailblazers’ where she talked about the Williams sisters and how they embraced the sport into their personalities.
The two sisters made tennis an indispensable part of their lives. Hence, they always had something new and exciting that they brought to the court. For Venus it was her ever-evolving love for the sport and for Serena it was the fashion that added a flare to tennis.

When Venus and Serena Williams made their professional debut, they became the underdogs. However, they established their dominant hold over the sport with a swift run on the tour. Soon, the Williams sisters became a world-renowned pair of tennis stars which they have upheld till now.
However, how could they stay persistent enough to be like this for such a long time? Serena Williams bid the sport farewell after dedicating 27 years of her life. Venus is just one year short of completing three decades since her debut.

In a book written by Billie Jean King with Cynthia Starr, the veteran tennis legend shared her insight on the two players. She started with Venus and stated, “For Venus, tennis never got old. I think part of her secret could be found in the enviable balance of her life.” She added, “Venus was never one-dimensional.”
On the other hand, we all know that Serena has always loved to add some flare to her on-court fits. So, regarding her, Kings stated, “Serena’s personal style evolved with her.” She also talked about her controversial 2018 French Open black catsuit outfit which was designed to keep her blood flow going.
However, French Open authorities banned such outfits from the tournament. King stated, “From her black catsuit to dresses that evoked a ballerina’s flourish, she was a fashion chameleon who never lost sight of the role of style in entertainment.”

Williams got confident with the growth of her career. So, eventually, we saw some blaring outfits on the court. And Venus too made sure to add a flare once in a while.
The evolution of the Williams sisters’ style on-court
The debut of the two sisters in tennis saw them smiling chin-to-chin in their beaded hairstyles. And as their influence grew on the court, they made sure to add some spice to their on-court outfits. From tulle-inspired outfits to Andre Agassi-denim jean-inspired outfits, Serena Williams embraced her bold on and off-court personality. On the other hand, we also saw Venus Williams wearing a Tina Turner-inspired frill dress at 2010 Wimbledon.
