Garbine Muguruza’s achievements and current season
Former World No. 1 had great success over the past few years, where she managed to bag the French Open in 2016, Wimbledon in 2017, and reached the Australian Open finals in 2020. Injuries halted her progress in between but the fighting Spaniard overcame and won the WTA Finals in 2021.
Currently ranked 9th in the world, Garbine Muguruza had a devastating 2022 season so far. Starting the season with as high as third in the WTA circuit, she crashed out of the Australian Open in the second round. She lost her match in straight sets to Alize Cornet.
