The first coach of Venus and Serena Williams did not go easy on them and his tough methods, both on and off the court, made people assume he was a violent person. His courtside outbursts and his sharp jabs also gave that impression. However, his children have always refuted such claims. Be it on the court or off of it, his children have always held Richard Williams in high regard.

According to them, he was strict, but not violent. His outbursts were quite common, as he was totally immersed during the match. And now his son and stepbrother of the Williams sisters, Chavoita LeSane, has come out and has opened up about his personality.

In a recent interview, he opened up about the misconceptions and dictated the real nature of his father.

Refuting all claims of him being a bitter man, he stated, “I don’t know if my dad holds grudges against anyone and my dad will always take the high road. That’s something I admire about my dad.”
