The message surely addressed Sabalenka’s present mindset but she also broke silence about her relationship with Konstantin. The statement gives a hint that the couple had ended their relationship a while before.

Coming to the Miami Open, the tournament organizers have given an extra day off for Sabalenka. The Belarusian is due to face good friend Paula Badosa on Thursday. But, the order of play doesn’t have their match lined up for tomorrow. Fans can expect Sabalenka to take the courts on Friday, where she will play one of the most emotional matches of her career against her close friend in the locker room.

Sabalenka refused to attend any post-match conferences

A few hours after Konstantin’s passing, Aryna was seen at the Miami Open, where she hit a few balls in preparation for her second-round match-up. The Belarusian made it clear that she will play the event but decided to not attend any post-match press conferences.

WTA peers Badosa, Caroline Wozniacki, and Jessica Pegula have offered their support to Sabalenka in such a difficult time. Meanwhile, CNN reported on Wednesday that Konstantin had died of alleged suicide in Miami, and the cause of death is being investigated.

Coming to Konstantin, he was a key player for the Pittsburgh Penguins and represented the NHL team for three seasons. Koltsov also played for Belarus at the Winter Olympics in 2002 and 2010. After retirement, Koltsov also served as an assistant coach to the ice hockey team “Salavat Yulaev Ufa” for the past two seasons.
