‘My Name Is James Bond’- Martina Navratilova Brings Out Her Fun Self in an Amusing Behind the Scenes Clip

Martina Navratilova is rightly known as one of the greatest players of all time. The Czech-American player dominated the game for decades during one of the most competitive phases of women’s tennis. Retiring in 2006, she now works as a tennis expert and analyst in shows.

However, being a player of such caliber, talk shows and podcasts didn’t just seem to be her thing. The result? One of the greatest players of all time is set to wear coaching shoes. After being out of the game for more than a decade, Navratilova is on her way to becoming a coach with Top Court.

Navratilova becomes a part of Top Court

Yesterday, the 25th of May, Top Court announced Martina Navratilova as one of its latest editions to the long list of players in its panel. Making the announcement through their official Twitter handle, the online video training platform shared a behind-the-scenes video of Navratilova.

The video was a compilation of Navratilova’s interview as well as her on-court session. Trying her hands on the game after a long time, the 59-time Grand Slam champion had some of the most hilarious reactions. Missing a ball on the volley, a laughing Navratilova said, “My name is James Bond.” Missing another ball on the volley, Navratilova asserted, “I missed it. But it looked good.”

While Navratilova will soon be coaching budding players through Top Court, one cannot forget her professional coaching career. Going back in time, Navratilova joined the team of former Polish star Agnieszka Radwanska at the start of the 2015 season. However, the partnership between the two didn’t last long, as they announced a split just after 5 months.

The incredible career of Martina Navratilova

As mentioned earlier, Martina Navratilova is one of the finest players in the sport. Stepping on the professional tour in 1974, the American-Czech player climbed the ladder of success like no other player. In her debut year itself, she won her 1st mixed doubles Grand Slam title. The 1974 French Open. It was followed by a women’s doubles title at the 1975 French Open.

In singles, she won her first singles title at the 1975 Wimbledon. The win also pushed the legendary player to the top of the rankings for the first time. Retiring in 2006, Navratilova won a total of 59 Grand Slams in her career. Being one of the best players, she also held the top spot in the rankings for 332 weeks.
