Apart from these, the 31-year-old also won a number of titles, along with representing her country on the international platform. However, even after being at the top, one thing that didn’t change for Wozniacki in her 1.5 decades-long career was the support from her family. In a recently released clip of her show ‘Wozniacki & Lee’, Wozniacki revealed why her family always played one of the important roles in her success.

The everlasting support from the family of Caroline Wozniacki

OTT streaming platform Viaplay, yesterday took to their Instagram handle, uploading a post. In the post, Caroline Wozniacki recalled her relationship with her family. The video also featured her friend and on-court rival, Agnieszka Radwańska.

The video was a compilation of a number of old footage of Wozniacki’s career and childhood. It was coupled with heart-warming narration by the champion herself.

The video started with Caroline recalling her relationship with her family. She elaborated on how her father, mother, and brother played the most important roles in her life. “I’m so close to my family. I think they have been the most important people in my life to make me the person that I am today. My dad was my coach and my mom was my biggest supporter on the sideline. My brother has always been a big support.”

Caroline Wozniacki and Agnieszka Radwanska have been two of the greatest on-court rivals. The two have played each other 17 times in their careers, with Wozniacki leading the head-to-head race 11-6. However, apart from being great on-court rivals, the two share a highly sound off-court relationship.

In the video, Radwanska was also seen recalling her first meeting with Caroline Wozniacki. The former World No. 2 emphasized how she could see the involvement of Caroline’s parents.

“When I met Carol (Wozniacki) for the first time, the family was already of course there and you could see that everybody was involved 100 percent.”

Wozniacki further elaborated on how her family played one of the most vital roles in her journey to the top spot. She also addressed the sacrifices made by her family for her career.

“I think I never take for granted the relationship I have with my parents and my brother. I think we are so close as a family. It’s pretty incredible, the journey we have been all together. My parents made a lot of sacrifices for my career and I really appreciate that. I couldn’t have made it to the top of the game without my parents close support. That’s for sure.”

The gracious career of Wozniacki

Turning pro in 2005, Wozniacki started her career as a Wildcard entrant at the WTA Cincinnati Open, facing a first-round loss. Not losing hope, she went on playing a number of ITF and WTA tournaments to polish her skills further. After a high amount of practice and dedication, it was finally in 2008 that she won her first WTA tournament, the WTA 500 Connecticut Open.
