Coco Gauff, the American tennis professional, touched many headlines this season with her game. She showed signs of becoming the next Maria Sharapova of WTA. She engraved her name on two records marked under the Russian’s name. First, she became the youngest player to enter a Grand Slam final since Sharapova in 2004. Then she qualified for the WTA Finals as the youngest, following in her footsteps.

However, like Sharapova had Serena Williams who rivaled her potential achievements, Gauff has Iga Swiatek. Swiatek at first snatched her French Open trophy and this time she walked her out of the WTA Finals. Here’s what a dejected Gauff had to say about her defeat.

The world no.4 after giving a subpar start to the year with only a quarterfinals run coming from the Qatar Open in the hard court season shined in the clay courts of the French Open. She managed to reach the finals of the tournament, which made players like Naomi Osaka pack their bags in the initial rounds without dropping any set.
